Spring  Birding in the  Foothills of the Canadian Rockies

Come join Rocky Mountain Escape and expert birding guides in the beautiful Alberta Rocky Mountains for a spectacular birding tour.  This excursion will be a 3 day, 2 night package focusing on discovering the wonders of the spring songbird migration in the front range of the Canadian Rockies.

Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive at Rocky Mountain Escape mid-afternoon to settle into your private log cabin.
Stroll down to a gravel bar on Munn Creek with your birding guide.  Watch for warblers, sparrows, finches, jays and juncos singing amongst the willows, poplars and spruce.
Dinner at the 'Escape with free time after dinner to enjoy the stars and spectacular views.

Day 2
Breakfast at the 'Escape.
Transportation  to Rock Lake with your birding guide.
Watch for waterfowl, eagles and hawks, and the ever-present songbirds.
Lunch at Rock Lake, followed by transportation to the Wild Hay River.  A short hike (< 2 km) takes us to a lowland area to watch for marsh birds.
Late afternoon return to the 'Escape.
Dinner and evening campfire to compare birding notes..
Overnight accommodation at the 'Escape.

Day 3
Breakfast at the 'Escape.
Take a leisurely stroll along the Munn Creek Trail through subalpine forest to search for  more songbirds and grouse.
Lunch at the 'Escape followed by a leisurely departure.
