My first experience of hiking in Banff National Park came over twenty years ago. It was when I started work as a park interpreter here in 1986, however, that I began in earnest to explore the region. The summer of 1990, during which I took a leave of absence from my park position, was a glorious opportunity to go on several long backpacking excursions into the more remote areas of the park…
