Milton Achtimichuk - Western Heritage Artist
Calgary, Canmore & Cochrane Alberta, Canada
Milton Achtimichuk paints a range of western subjects, including heritage and ethnic Ukrainian farm scenes, historic mountain landscapes, and Rocky Mountain wildlife. It is this ability to paint such a variety of different genres that is most unique among his artistic talents.

Born and raised on a farm in the Saskatchewan prairies during the Great Depression, Milton carries forward many of these memories to the canvas with remarkable clarity using oils and brushes in the traditional style. Today, he spends a good part of his time painting at the internationally-renowned Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta, Canada as a guest artist.

Grizzly canvas Historic crossing
Milton is known best for his threshing scenes of earlier days. They are a sensitive and human record of frustration and courage, of elements fought and obstacles overcome and of defeat and abandonment, leaving a reminder of the way it was.
