Ribbon Creek Intermediate Nordic Ski Trails

Aspen Trail 1.8 km -Intermediate

A rolling intermediate alternative to the more difficult sections of Kovach Trail or the easier Terrace Trail. It offers good views of the Kananaskis Village and the Kananaskis Valley. Picnic tables.

Hidden Trail 1.2 km - Intermediate

This trail provides access to the Nakiska at Mount Allan Ski Area.

Kananaskis Village Trail

Some ski trails described on these pages ore accessible from Kananaskis Village via the Terrace trailhead at the Kananaskis Inn parking lot and via the Evan-Thomas Trail starting at the Kananaskis Village Centre.

Kovach 5.3 km- Intermediate

Aspen 1.8 km -Intermediate

Evan-Thomas 2.4 km- Intermediate

Kovach Trail 5.3 km- Intermediate

This trail receives good snow throughout the season and passes through a regrowth area from the forest fire of 1936. The route is named after a former forest ranger in the area. Picnic table.

Link Trail 0.8 km- Intermediate

This is a short trail through a mature forest that connects Kovach and Ribbon Creek Trails.

Marmot Basin Trail 2.8 km- Intermediate

This trail has excellent snow conditions and allows access to Nakiska's mid-mountain lodge. The trail posses through a mature spruce forest, has several bridged stream crossings and provides a good run down from the top.

Mount Allan Trail 1.9 km -Intermediate

This trail provides access to Coal Mine Trail. The downhill run from Coal Mine Trail is exhilarating and challenging. Please yield to the right of skiers traveling in the opposite direction.

Ruthie's Trail 0.7 km- Intermediate

This short, steep trail provides a loop connection to Skogan Pass Trail and provides easy access to/from the Nakiska Day Lodge.

Skogan Pass Trail 10.2 km -Intermediate

This very scenic route is the main access trail to the northern portions of the ski system. It is a good trip for the intermediate skier with some fast downhill runs. Spectacular views.

Terrace Trail 2.8 km- Intermediate

This is a scenic trail that wanders through aspen forest and connects to the Kananaskis Village area trails.

Skogan Pass Loop 2.8 km Intermediate/Difficult

This trail has excellent snow conditions and offers the advanced skier a challenging loop off the Skogan Pass Trail. The trail winds its way up through cutblocks, giving an open view of the Kananaskis Valley and provides an exhilarating downhill run. Exceptional views of the Kananaskis Valley.
