Banff – Canadian Rockies Interpretive Hikes

Banff National Park boasts a myriad of hiking experiences throughout the Canadian Rockies’ beautiful mountain wilderness. Hikers can access those exclusive areas visited by a limited number of Banff’s tourists.

Hiking in Banff National Park offers 1,500 km of trails, 50 backcountry campsites, two trail shelters, four backcountry lodges, several alpine huts, two commercial horse outfitters, and numerous licensed guide services. The trails in the more remote parts of the park are not as well-maintained and hikers must be prepared for camping. You will have to cross rivers as there are few bridges. The remote areas may require route-finding skills, and as such, have minimal evidence of human presence.

Yamnuska Mountain Adventures’ backpacking adventures are great escapes. As days pass, you fall into a rhythm, you relax and sore muscles firm up. Hiking at an easy pace you soon forget that you’re moving at all as you become absorbed with your surroundings: a waterfall breaks through the cliffs above, an orchid peeps through the moss on the forest floor, clouds scud past the peaks high above. The mountains provide endless distractions. Trips can be arranged for private groups too.
