ICE SKATING/TOBBAGANING

There are numerous places to go Ice Skating in Banff National Park. Two of the better know areas are on the lake at Lake Louise and behind the Banff Springs Hotel along the Spray River. Both Locations usually have a Bon-fire going and are pleasant places to go both as a couple or a family.

There is also a great tobboganing hill behind the Banff Springs Hotel just adjacent the skating rink. Other locations include Vermillion Lakes and some locations in the Town of Banff.

Don't forget to check out Canmore - located a short distance on the road going to the Canmore Nordic Centre is an area called Quarry Lake (you can not see the lake from the road - but you can see the parking area) there is both skating lakes and tobaganning hills here.

Contact the Banff Visitor Centre or Canmore Torusim Centre for details and current safty concerns. Be careful when skating on lakes, rivers and ponds, check for ice conditions posted at the location.
